New and Enhanced Features in Version 4
The latest upgrade to Xfmea (4.0.1 or higher) includes the following enhancements to the software's features and functionality:
Change Log
Xfmea now allows authorized users to activate a Change Log for a particular analysis. This log records a history of each revision to the analysis since the Change Log was activated and the specific changes that were made in each revision. Depending on your selections, the log can record the date/time of the change, the user who made the change, the type of change (e.g. Add, Edit, Delete, etc.), the record that was changed, the property that was changed, the value before, the value after and the reason (or justification) that the user provided at the time of the change. If desired, this utility can also be used to store an electronic record of the users who have reviewed and approved each version of the analysis.
Design Review Based on Failure Mode (DRBFM)
Xfmea now supports the Design Review Based on Failure Mode (DRBFM) analysis methodology that is used in the automotive and other industries to evaluate proposed changes to an existing design. This utility provides two views of the analysis, one for the Design Engineer to prepare the initial draft of the analysis and one for the entire Review Team to expand on the initial draft if necessary and identify appropriate corrective actions.
Customizable "Tooltips" for Worksheet Columns
With Version 4, you can now provide Xfmea users in your organization with some additional instructions for the type of information that should be entered into each column in an analysis worksheet (FMEA, Control Plan, DVP&R and/or DRBFM). When this feature is enabled, a "tooltip" appears when the user holds the mouse over a worksheet column header. You can use the generic tips that are shipped with the software or customize the tip files to meet your organization's particular expectations.

Export as BlockSim "Fault Tree"
Xfmea now provides the option to export your analysis information to an XML file that can be opened in ReliaSoft's BlockSim software as a Fault Tree.
